E’ finalmente uscito “Smell the Roses”, primo brano del nuovo album di Roger Waters “Is This The Life We Really Want?”.
Nessuna novità musicalmente parlando; il brano ricorda un po Have a Cigar, un po tanti altri brani dei Pink Floyd, è chiaro comunque che bisognerà aspettare l’uscita del disco, per poter capire meglio la dinamica musicale che Roger Waters ha deciso di imprimere nell’opera.
Va ricordato che “Is This The Life We Really Want?” è un album concept, per cui ogni ipotesi basata su questo brano, lascia davvero il tempo che trova.
Il disco doveva uscire il 19 maggio, ma dalle ultime informazioni sembra che uscirà il 2 giugno.

Il disco
Prepariamoci, finalmente il 19 maggio (2 giugno) uscirà il quinto disco di Roger Waters, si chiamerà Is This The Life We Really Want? lo ha annunciato ufficialmente qualche ora fa Roger Waters stesso attraverso il suo profilo instagram, postando un nuovo secondo video che mostra alcune fasi delle registrazioni in studio con l’orchestra.
L’arzillo settantaquattrenne, originario del Surrey, non smette di stupire e non si capisce dove diavolo peschi tutta questa energia tenendo presente che è in tour praticamente da sempre, e che il 26 maggio allo Spring Centre di Kansas City inizierà (o proseguirà, dipende dai punti di vista) un ennesimo nuovo tour che per ora toccherà “soltanto” Stati Uniti e Australia, ma immaginiamo che proseguirà in giro per tutto il mondo vista l’uscita del nuovo album.
Il titolo del nuovo album di Roger Waters è davvero emblematico “è questa la vita che vogliamo davvero?”; già solo leggendolo si percepisce la misura, la filosofia e lo spirito che aleggerà nel disco.
L’album esce a distanza di 25 anni dal leggendario Amused to Death. Al momento non si hanno ulteriori notizie in merito a Is This The Life We Really Want?, però possiamo goderci un nuovo teaser appena pubblicato.
P.S. Le immagini mostrano il banco mixer che sembrerebbe analogico, Is This The Life We Really Want? uscirà senza alcun dubbio anche su vinile, la mia speranza è che venga inciso in AAA
